GAÁL LAUNCH TODAY AND IT’S WHAT ETHICAL FASHION DREAMS ARE MADE OF
Melbourne’s newest eco-friendly fashion label, Gaal, launch for pre-order today with incredible locally made pieces inspired by the 70s. I was lucky enough to work with them on their campaign which is now up on their new website!
Almost a year ago now I was contacted by Brianna Gaal, co-founder of Gaal along with her partner Mathew- they were in the early stages of sampling and product development and she got in touch to plan a shoot. It’s probably pretty obvious by now that I’m a huge fan of ethical fashion, along with anything retro-inspired, so I was super keen to be involved and started compiling a list of possible locations. By the time we finally met in person a few months back I had so many locations in mind that I was so excited to share with them. We discussed their vision for the shoot and the brand, and they decided to go with the most amazing mid-century home, Casa Warrandyte for their campaign.
We somehow (I think thanks to Brianna & Matt’s incredible organisational skills) managed to shoot their studio lookbook AND campaign in one day- we began at Cat Scratch Studio in Brunswick (I recommend this place to everyone I work with- so cosy, homely and fun!) to shoot their pieces in the studio, had time for a quick lunch break and drove out to Warrandyte in Melbourne’s East for the campaign. It was a HUGE day with the most amazing team that I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with!
I’m so so excited to see Gaal launch- their first collection is absolutely beautiful, so well made, flattering and different. It’s so hard shooting with brands you LOVE because it’s incredibly tempting to spend all your money on their incredible clothes, and I definitely feel this way about Gaal’s collection. So keen to see where they go from here! Congratulations Gaal!
